We prepared for the rain, we expected it. We had intentions on embracing it. I grabbed the umbrella that stood by our door before leaving the house that morning. There were a few good things about the rain that I was actually excited about. First, I love to shoot in the rain, there is something so romantic about it. Second, our newly sodded backyard was going to get some much needed watering (ya!). The rain never did come that day and instead the sun peeked through the clouds every so often and the wind was a soft, subtle breeze that you could feel swirl in your hair and linger on your fingertips from time to time. Equally perfect, equally romantic. Just as it would have been if rain had dawned on us that day.
As I walked up to the ceremony site I spotted Michael from a distance. Nervous? If he was, I couldn’t tell. Even from afar, I could feel his excitement, through his smiles, the anticipation, by the way his arm fell on top of his father’s shoulder. His relaxed nature was carried on throughout the day. There was something so calm about their wedding day. So serene. Nothing rushed, nothing stressed upon. It really was a beautiful celebration of their love.
Thank you Erin & Michael for having me be a part of your wedding day.
