Ilford Delta 400 Watching the cousins laugh and play together is something that warms my heart. They share their little secrets, explore together and go over and beyond trying to make each other smile. The last bits of fall were spent doing exactly this. I hope that one day they can look back on their memories and be reminded of the beautiful relationships they have and how valuable they are. xoxo Maria.
(Fuji Pro 400 + Kodak Portra 400) We spent the day out at the lake this summer and as we were driving back home the sun was so softly setting. It was warm and beautiful and perfect. It was the type of light that excites me and the type of light that would make me put down a bar of dark chocolate to go out and shoot in it. I had intentions on making a stop to snap some photos of the kids but as I turned around to look behind me I saw two very exhausted and heavily sleeping little ones. I was a little sad at a missed opportunity but now that I look back I am really grateful that I was able to capture these instead.
These photographs are of two very special people. My in-laws. I feel a little wrong even calling them that. I really do feel that they are Mom and Dad to me as well. We love you guys. (fujipro 400h/35mm) Sometimes when life feels crazy and overwhelming and busy day after day, you have to take time. Time to realize that beautiful moments are happening all around you. Emery and Aidan, thank you my sweet children for filling my life with these beautiful memories.
(fuji film) I was pretty surprised when Aidan insisted that he dress up as something scary for Halloween this year. If you know Aidan then you know that “scary” is not up his alley. He proved this point when he refused to even go shop for costumes because well.. it was a tad too scary. Shopping this month was a little tricky.. we made sure to use different entrances into stores and different routes to the aisle we had to go to because we couldn’t chance passing by any of the Halloween stuff ; ) This really left me no choice but to try to make something for the kids and I only hoped that it didn’t turn into one big mess. I think we did okay.. Aidan is happy and it fits his description of “scary” perfectly and that is what matters! Happy Halloween!
