calgary photography | katherine & ben

i had the opportunity to spend some time with such an amazing couple. katherine and ben have been married for over a year now and when they came to me wanting to do a shoot that was essentially just for fun, i couldn’t have been more thrilled! it was such a breath of fresh air when we did this shoot to celebrate their love and it had nothing to do with engagement or wedding photos. how many of you have your wedding photos as the latest professional photo taken of the two of you? i’m guilty.. my husband and i desperately need to do a shoot to celebrate our love.

so i had these locations in mind before i even found them. that seems to always be the way it is, but luckily everything always seems to work out just right. *knock on wood* i had so much fun hanging out with these two! they are so incredibly in love and being able to capture that made me love what i do even more.

warning - photo heavy.. enjoy!

calgary photography | cake pops!!!!

easter is right around the corner!! i spent the day making these after seeing how awesome my friend (alicia price)’s had turned out. what’s a cake pop you ask? it’s cake, covered in candy goodness, on a lollipop stick and decorated to perfection. are they easy? why YES! if you have tons of time to spare or if you can distract your kids for hours on end while you play picasso in the kitchen, then i say go for it. bakerella is the genious behind these pops. don’t forget that these take time.. lots and lots of time.. and they may also become a little bit of an addiction, i think i will make the happy faces next..
