This is love.

Last month we went out to Vancouver for a little family holiday and we just so happen to be there the same time my sister was there visiting. I couldn’t help but to put her in front of my camera along with her lovebird.

The Warnick family purchased a gift certificate from me a while back and it has finally been put to use! Julie is finishing school in England. Allie lives in Halifax. They were both in Calgary for the summer so family portraits seemed like the perfect idea. And it was perfect. Them, I mean. They weren’t afraid to let their true personalities shine and I feel so lucky that I was there to capture it all. Thank you Warnick family for being true.

I can not say enough great things about this family. Over the past year, Melissa has been so supportive of my work and always puts complete trust in me. When she contacted me to photograph not just her family but her parents as well, I knew it would be something special, something that would hold dear to her heart. We went to Canmore for this session which turned out great as we escaped the smoke of Calgary (from B.C. fires). I couldn’t believe how much the two boys have grown since last year. ADORABLE.

Cousins. She will be two in a few days. He will be four in a few weeks. Love these kids.

One day a man named Brandon bought a car. A 1989 Plymouth Horizon to be exact. Over a period of 3 years he transformed and modified it in every way possible. Every bit of work he did himself, from hand building the transmission and suspension to fiber-glassing the fenders and painting it. As you can imagine, finding parts for a vehicle such as this was hard to come by so most of the parts under the hood were fabricated by hand. His hands. This is his car. Or should I say this was his car.
