along the road

We spent the day out at the lake this summer and as we were driving back home the sun was so softly setting. It was warm and beautiful and perfect. It was the type of light that excites me and the type of light that would make me put down a bar of dark chocolate to go out and shoot in it. I had intentions on making a stop to snap some photos of the kids but as I turned around to look behind me I saw two very exhausted and heavily sleeping little ones. I was a little sad at a missed opportunity but now that I look back I am really grateful that I was able to capture these instead.

These photographs are of two very special people. My in-laws. I feel a little wrong even calling them that. I really do feel that they are Mom and Dad to me as well. We love you guys.
